Delete your AskAIs account
You can delete your AskAIs account yourself in the AskAIs app, or ask us to delete it by email — you don’t need to install the app to make a request. This page explains both options and what happens to your data.
- App
- AskAIs, on Google Play and the App Store
- Service
- AskAIs (askais.com)
- Developer
- MiniCode LLC
- Contact
- support@askais.com
Option 1: Delete your account in the app
- Open the AskAIs app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- In the inbox, tap the profile icon at the top right to open Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
- Read what will happen, then confirm it’s you: enter your password or, if your account has no password (for example, because you sign in with Google), the 6-digit code we email to you.
- Confirm the deletion. Your account is deleted straight away, and you are signed out on every device.
If you own a workspace, the app first asks what should happen to it. See “If you own a workspace” below.
If you belong to more than one workspace, you have a separate account in each. The app deletes the account for the workspace you are signed in to; switch to each other workspace and repeat, or ask us by email to delete all of them.
The AskAIs web dashboard doesn’t have a delete button. If you only use AskAIs on the web, or can’t use the app, use option 2.
Option 2: Ask us by email
- Email support@askais.com from the email address of the account you want to delete.
- Use the subject “Delete my account”, and include the name of your workspace if you know it.
- We check that the request comes from the account holder — we may reply to that address to confirm — and delete the account within 30 days. We email you when it’s done.
What is deleted
When the deletion is complete:
- You are signed out on every device, and the account can never be signed in to again.
- Your name, email address, profile photo and password are removed from your account, and any linked Google sign-in is disconnected.
- The records of the devices you signed in on, including their push notification tokens, are deleted, and so are your notification preferences.
- Conversations that are still open and assigned to you are unassigned, so no customer is left waiting.
What is kept, and for how long
Some records belong to your workspace rather than to your personal profile, so they are kept after your account is deleted:
- Messages you sent to customers, and other content you added to the workspace, stay in its conversation history and are shown without your name. They belong to the workspace — usually your employer — which decides how long to keep them. They are deleted when the workspace deletes them or when the workspace itself is deleted.
- Audit records of actions in the workspace, including a record of the deletion itself (when it happened, the IP address, and the app or browser used), and team invitation records, which can include the email address you were invited with. We keep these for security, fraud prevention and legal purposes. They have no fixed deletion date, and audit records are kept even if the workspace is later deleted.
To have the workspace’s records changed or removed, contact the workspace that manages your account — it controls that data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
If you own a workspace
- If other people are in your workspace, the app asks you to choose a new owner — an admin or agent — before your account is deleted. The workspace, its data and its subscription carry on under the new owner. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel the subscription and doesn’t entitle you to a refund.
- If you are the only member, deleting your account in the app also permanently deletes the workspace, including its conversations, contacts, inboxes, quick replies, knowledge and settings. Chat widgets connected to it stop working.
- If the workspace still has a paid subscription or an unpaid balance, or no one else can take over as owner, the app can’t finish and asks you to contact us instead.
- Deleting a whole workspace — for example, while other people still use it — is a separate request. Email support@askais.com from the owner’s email address with the subject “Delete my workspace” and the workspace name. We check that you are the owner and complete the request within 30 days. This deletes every account in the workspace and all of its data.
Billing: before a workspace is deleted, its subscription has to end. You can switch to the Free plan yourself in the web dashboard under Settings › Billing, or we cancel the subscription as part of your request so that it doesn’t renew. Fees already paid aren’t refunded, except where required by law — see our Terms of Service. Stripe, our payment processor, keeps its own records of past payments.
